Step out into nature, feel the breeze of the ocean on your skin and your toes melting into the send as you embark on your journey towards a healthier, fitter and more relaxed version of yourself with our Womens Surf, Yoga & Wellness Day.
Building upon Aotearoa Surf’s weekly Surf Sistas program, our Womens Surf, Yoga & Wellness Day looks at combining women’s passion for the ocean, adventure and being active, with a relaxing, holistic and healthy living approach to surfing through yoga. We strive to lure women away from their stressful, everyday lives and into the surf for one incredible, revitalising day!
The day will be broken up into 3 parts; Fitness, Surfing & Yoga:
Whether you are an experienced surfer or it’s your first time in the water , and for all fitness levels
FITNESS: Radiate & Run
Our Surf Fitness class will focus upon basic fitness concepts, body strength, flexibility and balance, all of which are applied during surfing. We encourage all levels of fitness to join in and encourage individuals to train at a pace they feel comfortable. The environment will be a very positive, supportive one; we are all on a journey of healthier living together.

Presence, mindfulness and awareness, body alignment and connection, breathing and energy flow are all vital components of our every day lives that will be explored throughout the class.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
Kat is one of our Head Coaches here at Aotearoa Surf School, she’s 28 years young from Columbia and has a passion for surfing, yoga and fitness! Her passion Women’s health and wellness began with her passion for surfing, which then led her to start practicing yoga and most recently, lead her into the wellness and fitness industry.
Her surfing started around 10 years ago on the Mediterrean Coast. She is extremely passionate about all things related to the ocean. In a recent interview with Aotearoa Surf, she mentioned her favourite thing about surfing; “There are no words that can truly explain what I love the most about surfing, I guess if I had to say something it would be the feeling of freedom that surfing gives, I love that it is challenging, powerful, I love the feeling of breathing and my consciousness when I’m in the ocean and I love the connection that surfing gives you with your inner-self and nature.”
Kat has been practicing yoga for over 8 years now. She has always had a keen interest in yoga and spent many years in the Canary Islands studying Ashtanga Yoga, reading books, attending classes and practicing her own movements. It wasn’t until 2019, she finally travelled to India to complete her Certificate in Hatha yoga at Universal Yoga School in Goa, Arambol, India. While she still enjoys to practice Ashtanga herself, she prefers to teach Hatha as it is much more accessible to all levels.
She is also 7 months into her Certificate 3 in Fitness at a university on the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia. She works full time in New Zealand’s down season on the Gold Coast teaching fitness classes to incredible women of all fitness levels.
Kat will be accompanied by Kiana and Luci on the ‘Women’s Surf, Yoga & Wellness Day’, both of whom are instructors at Aotearoa Surf School, as well some additional instructors in the water during the surf lesson.
