Whilst we are based at Te Arai, we are a mobile surf school and are not restricted to any one beach. We operate at the beach offering the most suitable conditions on the day, in the local area, depending on swell size and direction, wind direction and tides. Similarly we do not operate the lessons at fixed times each day so we can respond to the varying rhythm of the waves and tides.

can be at best extremely frustrating and at worst potentially life threatening. That’s why we provide safe easy step by step instruction with one of New Zealand’s most experienced surf coaches at some of the safest surf beaches in New Zealand. From first time surfers looking for that first stand up ride to the beach to those wanting to refresh or refine techniques or advanced surfers wanting to work on contest strategy and tactics we show you how to realise your ambitions.Our lessons, equipment and coaching style are designed to enable you to progress at your own pace in the most suitable conditions for your skill level. We will also give you things to consider and practice in your own time so you can continue to improve. Class sizes vary depending on demand but are usually restricted to 8 or less.
What to bring: Beach wear, towel, water, waterproof sunscreen.
